Looking for the best Temecula winery hotels?
Imagine sitting on your private balcony, watching the sunset over a vineyard, and sipping a fantastic glass of wine. This scenario is yours for the taking when you stay at one of the winery hotels in Temecula.
Tucked away behind rolling hills and scenic back roads, Temecula Valley is home to nearly 50 wineries. But only five of those wineries have a hotel located directly onsite.
You heard that correctly – there are only five Temecula winery hotels if you want to stay right on the vineyards!
Though many people may overlook Temecula for more famous wine country destinations like Napa and Sonoma Valley, this region is equally beautiful. Best of all, it is located right in Southern California. I have spent lots of time exploring Temecula; it is a fabulous destination, even if wine tasting is not your main reason for wanting to visit. The hotels in Temecula Wine Country are beautiful, relaxing, and packed with upscale amenities.
To help you choose the best place to stay, here are details on the five Temecula winery hotels.
Temecula Winery Hotels
There are five hotels in Temecula located directly onsite at a working winery. And while there are many other wonderful inns and hotels in Temecula, here are your options for winery hotels.
1. Ponte Vineyard Inn

Ponte Vineyard Inn At-A-Glance
- Address: 35001 Rancho California Road, Temecula
- Boutique winery hotel
- Adjacent to Ponte Winery
- Four restaurants
- Wine tasting on-site
- Outdoor pool and hot tub
- Fitness center
- Free parking
Located in the heart of Temecula wine country, Ponte Vineyard Inn is surrounded by more than 300 acres of vineyards.
Ponte Vineyard Inn is a 90-room boutique hotel with elegant but modern amenities and decor. All rooms and suites feature granite countertops, a mini fridge, signature bath amenities, and a patio or balcony with breathtaking views. (Seriously, you can almost touch the vineyard from your patio!)
Outside the hotel is equally beautiful. In addition to the vineyards, Ponte Vineyard Inn is flanked by gardens, a lake, and an expansive pool deck overlooking the vineyard and Palomar Mountains beyond.
There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas on the pool deck, plus games and a nice-sized hot tub. When we stayed this past summer, there were plenty of kids having fun at the pool.

There are four restaurants onsite including The Cellar Lounge, offering cocktails, craft beer, gourmet food and live entertainment. Ponte’s Tasting Room is a destination unto itself, with a beautiful shop, the chance to sample fine wines, restaurant, stage for events, gardens, and lots of spots to sit and enjoy.
2. South Coast Winery Resort & Spa

South Coast Winery Resort and Spa At-A-Glance
- Address: 34843 Rancho California Road, Temecula
- Fireplace in every room
- Full-service GrapeSeed Spa
- Vineyard Rose Restaurant
- Outdoor pool and hot tub
- On-site wine tasting
Located next door to Ponte Vineyard Inn, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is another amazing winery hotel in Temecula.
South Coast Winery Resort & Spa sits on 38 acres of vineyards. The resort is comprised of a mix of private villas and a hotel tower filled with suites. Room amenities include fireplaces, extra deep tubs, wet bars, and private patios or balconies. In the mornings, you can watch the hot air balloons rising into the sky.
Of all the Temecula winery hotels, I’d say this is the best one for families. They have a great pool area, and if you stay in a villa, you’ll have a large private patio that literally extends into the vineyard.

Another nice thing about the villas is you can park right next to your room, where if you stay in the tower you will have a bit of a walk plus the elevator ride.
South Coast is extremely family-friendly, and that includes pets as well as kids! Your dog will even receive a sWag Bag full of goodies at check-in. (There is a non-refundable cleaning fee charged.)
I have to admit that I found the tower’s lobby a little bland – not too different than your average chain hotel, which was a little disappointing. However, the service is exceptional and the grounds are absolutely lovely!

A gourmet breakfast at the hotel’s upscale restaurant, Bolero, is included with every stay.

4. Carter Estate Winery & Resort

Carter Estate Winery & Resort At-A-Glance
- Address: 34450 Rancho California Road, Temecula
- Complimentary breakfast
- Complimentary bottle of wine
- Wine fridge and fireplace in every room
- Outdoor pool and hot tub
- The Vineyard Grill Restaurant
- On-site wine tasting
Situated on 112 acres, Carter Estate Winery & Resort is a great place to stay in Temecula wine country. This luxury resort is comprised of 60 private bungalows and suites. These beautifully decorated rooms feature deep soaking tubs, gas fireplaces, and private patios with views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards.
I’ll be perfectly honest and admit that I have not stayed at this resort. I have been to the winery, but we have not seen the guest rooms in person. This is because the resort is located behind a gate; you have to drive up a long, private road and check in at a Security bungalow to access the property.
I actually love this element of mystery, luxury, and complete privacy.
Carter Estate Winery & Resort has a pool with food service. Breakfast is included with your stay, delivered right to your bungalow at your pre-selected time so you can enjoy it from the privacy of your room or patio.
