There is nothing better than floating down a lazy river on a hot, sunny day. If you’re looking for the best Palm Springs hotels with lazy river for a fun getaway, I’ve got them right here!
We live less than two hours away from Palm Springs, and the desert area is one of my favorite getaway destinations, especially during the warmer months when you can really enjoy the pools.
The greater Palm Springs area is comprised of eight desert communities, and while there are (unfortunately) no hotels right in the actual city of Palm Springs with a lazy river, there are several in the surrounding area – and we’ve stayed at all of them!
There are four Palm Springs resorts with lazy rivers. Yup – only four.
Other articles may list other hotels or private Palm Springs lazy river vacation rentals, but for the purpose of this article, we will focus on the four full-scale Palm Springs resorts with a lazy river to help you plan the perfect getaway.
So grab some sunscreen and an inner tube and get ready to laze the day away at one of these amazing lazy river Palm Springs hotels.

Lazy River Palm Springs Hotels
Here are all the details on these fantastic lazy river hotels in Palm Springs you can enjoy on your desert vacation.
1. Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort At-A-Glance
- Address: 41000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage
- Distance to Downtown Palm Springs: 12 miles
- 425-foot lazy river
- Pool, hot tub, water play area, and two water slides
- 23 outdoor tennis courts
- Championship golf course
- Full-service spa
- Six restaurants, including the new Desert Pearl
Set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and towering palm trees, the Omni Rancho Las Palmas is truly an oasis in the heart of the California desert. It is considered one of the most family-friendly resorts and in my opinion the best Palm Springs hotel with lazy river.
The Omni Rancho Las Palmas is also one of the only Palm Springs hotels with water slides, too!

Located on 240 lush acres, the resort features Splashtopia Water Park, an extensive pool area with a lazy river, two 100-foot water slides, a cliff-side hot tub, sandy beach, and unique water-play zones for kids. We stayed here a lot when my son was a bit younger, and he had so much for enjoying Splashtopia!
► Travel Insight
One drawback of this resort is the pool and lazy river tend to get very crowded when the resort is full; in fact, on one of our recent visits we couldn’t even find lounge chairs to put our stuff down! My best advice is to get to the pool early in the day if you are visiting on a weekend or during peak season.

In addition to the family-friendly pool areas, the Omni also has a separate, large outdoor pool for adults only.
Omni Rancho Las Palmas features 444 guest rooms and 22 suits, all housed in Spanish-style, 2-story buildings clustered around gardens, the golf course, a lake, and the pool. All rooms feature French doors that open to private patios and balconies.
2. Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Spa

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells At-A-Glance
- Address: 44600 Indian Wells Lane, Indian Wells
- Distance to Downtown Palm Springs: 17 miles
- Recently renovated hotel
- 450-foot lazy river
- Seven pools and multiple water slides
- Tennis courts
- Golf course
- Full-service spa
- On-site restaurants
Located in the nearby desert town of Indian Wells, the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas (formerly named Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa before its multi-million dollar renovation in 2024) is a luxurious, family-friendly Palm Springs hotel with lazy river offering beautiful mountain views and a wealth of amenities.
With seven outdoor pools and two whirlpools, HyTides features a 450-foot lazy river and dueling 30-foot tall water slides. There is also a water playground and smaller water slide for kids who don’t reach the 48-inch height requirement.

In addition, the Grand Hyatt has an adults-only pool tucked away in a quiet corner of the pool area. I really loved the relaxing vibe of this pool and it was nice to get away from the kids now and then.
You can enjoy a delicious meal while you lounge with poolside food and drink service from the pool bar or grab a bite at Vista Square Kitchen, a casual restaurant located outside between the Vista Pools and HyTides Waterpark.
The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas has 531 beautiful rooms, including 39 suites and 43 villas. The tastefully decorated, spacious rooms each feature a private balcony and marble bath with separate shower and tub.
3. WorldMark Indio

WorldMark Indio At-A-Glance

- Kitchens and laundry in every suite
- Full-service spa

Located 26 miles east of downtown Palm Springs, WorldMark Indio is also just 28 miles west of Joshua Tree National Park! So if you are planning to visit Joshua Tree with kids this is a fabulous resort to consider.
Although WorldMark Indio is a timeshare property, you can also stay as regular hotel guests.
This Mediterranean-style resort is ideal for families looking to have fun in the California desert. The resort features one, two and three-bedroom suites, all with a full kitchen, dining area, living room, and a washer and dryer in every suite. Each suite also boasts a private balcony.
WorldMark Indio features tons of family-friendly amenities and fun things to do. In addition to the pool and lazy river, other amenities include a spa, tennis courts, basketball, a game room, BBQ area, 18-hole golf course, and two playgrounds for little kids.
4. Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa

Morongo At-A-Glance
- Address: 49500 Seminole Drive, Cabazon
- Distance to Downtown Palm Springs: 21 miles
- Sandy beach, pools, and lazy river
- Vegas-style casino
- Full-service spa
- Located adjacent to Cabazon Outlet Center
- 11 on-site restaurants
- Free parking
Conveniently located off the 10 Freeway just west of Palm Springs, Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa is a Native American casino and resort, owned by the Morongo Band of Cahuilla Mission Indians. It is the final of these four greater Palm Springs resorts with lazy river.
The 27-story hotel tower has 310 rooms and suites, plus six ultra-luxurious casitas featuring private pools, separate living areas, oversized soaking tubs, and shaded verandas with plush chaise lounges.

But Morongo’s greatest amenity is its pool. The Oasis Pool features a sandy beach, two hot tubs and long, winding lazy river. The river winds past the casitas and extra long, so it never gets too crowded. It is truly a relaxing way to spend your time in the sun.
The Oasis Pool also has private cabanas and day beds available to rent, and of course there is a poolside bar and restaurant.
