Located in Indian Wells about 15 miles from downtown Palm Springs, this sprawling luxury resort underwent an extensive renovation and rebranding from Hyatt Regency Indian Wells to Grand Hyatt Indian Wells in 2024.
The resort’s HyTides Waterpark features a 450-foot lazy river, splash area, smaller children’s slide and two large dueling water slides. The main slides twist down from the three-story slide tower before emptying into the pool. The twisty slides are named The Rattler and The Sidewinder.
There are also multiple pools throughout the property, giving you plenty of places to cool off when the desert temperatures soar.

I’ve stayed at this resort and spent plenty of time enjoying HyTides. The lazy river is one of my favorite features! It is long enough to be interesting and moves at a comfortable pace rather than feeling like you’re barely moving.
I also love that complimentary tubes are available, so you don’t have to rent or bring your own.
On my recent stay at the Hyatt, I spent a lot of time in the water and it was perfect. The lazy river is long and moves at a decent pace – not too fast and not too slow. There are plenty of free tubes available for everyone to enjoy.
There is also a splash pad and an additional smaller water slide for kids who don’t reach the 48-inch height requirement.

Set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and palm trees, the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort is the perfect hotel for a family vacation and a true oasis in the California desert. It is one of my longtime favorite family resorts in the Palm Springs area and my pick for the best full water-park experience.
We’ve stayed here numerous times over the years starting with when my son was just a little guy, and we’ve always had a great time at this hotel. It is definitely one of the best Palm Springs family resorts with water slides for many reasons beyond just the pool experience!
But the biggest reason families love this hotel is Splashtopia, the resort’s expansive water playground with splash zones for kids, a lazy river, and two 100-foot waterslides. There is also poolside food and drink service, which means you can easily spend most of the day here.

All rooms feature French doors that open to private patios and balconies. This touch really adds to the upscale vibe of the resort.

I love this resort because the pool setup works well for both kids and parents.
Splashtopia has enough going on to keep children entertained for hours, but the resort also has the separate adults-only Azure Pool. More importantly, I love how this hotel is incredibly family-friendly, and yet the property feels incredibly serene and luxurious.

We visited the resort on a recent weekend and I need to warn you – Las Brisas was crowded! A DJ was playing, the grill was cranking out burgers, and the pool was packed with families having fun. I recommend getting there early if you visit during a busy time and hope to find lounge chairs together!

When we visited on a weekend, Las Brisas was hopping. It had an energetic vacation atmosphere that kids and teens in particular may really enjoy. This is a great hotel if your kids would enjoy a lively pool experience.
The dual slides are also considerably more substantial than the small decorative slides found at some family resorts.
The adults-only Las Hadas pool provided a nice reprieve, though the vibrant atmosphere carried over, just without the kids!
What to Know Before Booking
That lively atmosphere isn’t necessarily for everyone. If you’re visiting during a weekend or busy school-break period, I recommend getting to the pool early.
