Palm Springs Family Resorts with Water Slides
1. Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort At-A-Glance
- Multiple water slides
- 450-foot lazy river
- Seven pools
- Tennis courts
- Golf course
- Full-service spa
- Fitness center
Located in the desert town of Indian Wells, just a short drive to downtown Palm Springs, the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort (formerly called the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa, before its multi-million dollar renovation in 2024) is a luxury hotel offering beautiful views and a wealth of family-friendly amenities.
With seven resort pools and two hot tubs, HyTides water park features a 450-foot lazy river and dueling 30-foot water slides. The twisty slides are named The Rattler and The Sidewinder.

On my recent stay at the Hyatt, I spent a lot of time in the water and it was perfect. The lazy river is long and moves at a decent pace – not too fast and not too slow. There are plenty of free tubes available for everyone to enjoy.
There is also a splash pad and an additional smaller water slide for kids who don’t reach the 48-inch height requirement.

The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort has 531 rooms, including 39 suites and 43 villas. The tastefully decorated, spacious rooms each feature a private balcony and marble bath with separate shower and tub.
2. The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa

Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa At-A-Glance
- Three pools
- Dueling water slides
- Golf Course
- Tennis Courts
- Full-service spa
- Fitness center
Located in Rancho Mirage, the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa is a sprawling resort on 360 acres just outside Palm Springs.
The newly redesigned resort features three outdoor pools. The main pool, Las Brisas, is the most family-friendly pool and has dual water slides. There is a smaller pool which tends to be less crowded, and a separate adults-only pool.
We visited the resort on a recent weekend and I need to warn you – Las Brisas was crowded! A DJ was playing, the grill was cranking out burgers, and the pool was packed with families having fun. I recommend getting there early if you visit during a busy time and hope to find lounge chairs together!
The adults-only Las Hadas pool provided a nice reprieve, though the vibrant atmosphere carried over, just without the kids!
In addition to the pools, this Palm Springs water slide hotel has plenty of activities to keep the entire family busy. There are seven outdoor tennis, pickleball courts, golf, and the full-service Spa at Rancho Mirage.
3. Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

Omni Rancho Las Palmas At-A-Glance
- 425-foot lazy river
- Pool, water play area, and two water slides
- 23 tennis courts
- Championship golf course
- Full-service spa
- Fitness center
Set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and towering palm trees, the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort is the perfect hotel for a family vacation and a true oasis in the heart of the California desert.
We have stayed here numerous times over the years, and it is definitely one of the best Palm Springs family resorts with water slides for many reasons beyond just the pool experience! My son always has a great time at this hotel.
Located on 240 lush acres, the resort features Splashtopia water park – an extensive water playground with splash zones for kids, a lazy river, two 100-foot waterslides, a cliff-side hot tub, and Splash Grill snack bar. All these amenities make it an extremely popular Palm Springs water park hotel.
There is also an adults-only pool area. I love that it is close to the main family pool, but set apart in a separate gated area to keep it relaxed and quiet.

Omni Rancho Las Palmas features 444 guest rooms and 22 suits, all housed in Spanish-style, 2-story buildings clustered around gardens, the golf course, fire pits, a lake and the pool. All rooms feature French doors that open to private patios and balconies.

Also located in Rancho Mirage (in fact it is adjacent to the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa) you’ll find the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Villas, another Palm Springs water slide hotel for your family to enjoy.
The Westin Mission Hills Resort & Villas has a beautiful, resort-style pool with plenty of cushy lounge chairs, plus day beds and cabanas for rent. There is a nice water slide adjacent to the big pool, but unfortunately it was closed during our recent stay at the hotel.
If you are traveling with little ones, this family-friendly resort also has a zero entry kiddie pool, with lots of chairs surrounding it so you can keep a close eye on kids in the water.
The grounds at this vacation rental resort are beautifully kept with streams, bridges, gardens, and of course the golf course that runs adjacent to the property.

Walking around this resort gives off more of an apartment complex vibe than a luxury resort, but they are designed after all to feel more like a vacation home than a hotel. Each villa comes equipped with a kitchen or kitchenette, washer and dryer, seating area, and a patio or balcony.

There is one more resort I need to include on this list of best Palm Springs family resorts. It does not have a water slide, but it is such a unique and amazing place to stay I’d be remiss not to mention it.
The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa is a gorgeous, upscale resort in Desert Springs.
The thing that sets this resort apart and makes it so fun for families is its Boat Tour Experience. The boat dock it right in the hotel’s lobby, so even if you don’t go for a ride (the cost is $10 per person) it is so fun to watch. Once outside on the tour, you’ll cruise through the resort’s waterways and see wildlife and lovely views.

The resort features 450 acres of stunning mountain views, tranquil lakes – home to swans and the famous JW pink flamingos – five outdoor pools, two Ted Robinson-designed championship golf courses, the Tennis Complex, the Spa at Desert Springs, and the JW Entertainment Zone which is perfect for kids and teens.
Rooms at the resort are large and pretty, and every room and suite includes a furnished balcony. Accommodations feature plush bedding, hardwood floors, modern furnishings, and mountain-inspired murals in hues of blue, gray, and white. Spa-like bathrooms feature quartz vanities and rain-style showers.
