Hotels Walking Distance to Disneyland Entrance
The hotels on this list are all Good Neighbor Hotels – which means they have received Disney’s official stamp of approval. These off-property hotels ensure a comfortable stay with a room rate that won’t break the bank.
1. Fairfield Anaheim Resort

Fairfield Anaheim Resort At-A-Glance
- Outdoor walkways perfect for viewing fireworks
- Nice pool and spa
- Coffeemaker and mini-fridge in every room
- Breakfast is not included
This hotel has long been a favorite of mine, and of all the hotels walking distance to Disneyland, the Fairfield Anaheim Resort by Marriott is probably the one we’ve stayed at most. I remember wheeling my son through the lobby in a stroller, and he is now a teenager!
As one of the closest hotels across the street from Disneyland, the Fairfield Anaheim Resort is located just one block away from Disneyland’s main gate. It is modern and comfortable, with recently-renovated rooms that include either a king or two queen beds, and a pull-out sofa. The hotel also has a nice pool area located right off the lobby and parking area.

Opt for an upper floor and you’ll find a Disney-themed room with plenty of nods to Mickey Mouse and his friends. We’ve stayed in both a themed room and standard room. Their main difference is basically just the decor. The upper floors are also the best spot to view the fireworks show, but you can go up to watch regardless of where your room is located.
One of the things I love most about this hotel is the thoughtful little touches. Even though it is a budget-friendly place to stay considering its great location, they offer things like a fun game room, comfortable seating and TV playing Disney shows in the lobby, and fresh cold water you help yourself to any time of day.

All hotel rooms include a fridge. This is great because unfortunately unlike most hotels in Marriott’s Fairfield brand, this location does not provide free breakfast. This is the only major downside to this hotel based on our experience staying multiple times!
There is a Panera Bread and a McDonald’s just outside the hotel, and a small food court with a Pizza Hut inside. It’s easy to grab a quick, inexpensive breakfast on your way to the parks.

The Hilton Anaheim is located adjacent to the Anaheim Resort Convention Center and just a short walk to the Disneyland Resort.
Though the Hilton Anaheim is primarily known as a business hotel, one of the great things about this property is that when there isn’t an event going on at the Convention Center, rooms can be very inexpensive! We’ve stayed there for as little as $89 a night, which is amazing for a full-service resort hotel.

It is located on Harbor Blvd. just a five minute walk away and is one of our favorite hotels across the street from Disneyland.
Built in 2015 and refreshed in 2021, Marriott Courtyard Theme Park Entrance is a fairly new hotel, so it is exceptionally clean and bright, with many modern amenities including an 1,100 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center. There are tons of family-friendly touches, too, like bunk beds in every room.
Aside from its fabulous location across from Disneyland Park, the hotel’s biggest draw for families is Surfside Waterpark, a 20,000 square foot water playground. There are several great hotels near Disneyland with water park features, but Surfside is our absolute favorite!

The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance was clearly designed with families in mind. It has lots of family-friendly modern conveniences, including an onsite water park and rooms with bunk beds. When we stayed, I found all the amenities and exceptional customer service made it feel more like a full-service Marriott than a Courtyard brand hotel.

A pirate-themed water park and game room make Howard Johnson a favorite for families with young kids.
There are a range of room types, from studios to suites, to accommodate any size family. We stayed in a pirate-themed Kids Suite, which has separate bedrooms and is a great choice for large families (or in our case, two small families sharing the space!)
The hotel’s Castaway Cove water park includes fun water slides and cannons, a wading pool for the little ones and a 30-foot pirate ship. And because this hotel near to Disneyland is such a short walk away, the water park is great to visit on an afternoon break from the parks.

- Balcony in every room
- Modern, comfortable new rooms
- Restaurant and bar onsite
The Sheraton Park Hotel is located near the Anaheim Convention Center and a short walk to the parks. The hotel recently underwent a major renovation and everything is completely new and fresh.
We’ve stayed here a few times both before and after the renovations, and I can tell you the improvements are incredible! This definitely feels more like a luxury resort but the price is a great value for what you get.
Standard rooms are large and tastefully decorated. I also loved that the rooms have balconies, which is always an added perk! The hotel’s landscaping is a cut above, and it has a heated outdoor pool with a lush, tropical feel. So if you are traveling in the summertime especially, this hotel walking distance to Disneyland is a great place to consider!

The Sheraton Park Hotel has several onsite restaurants and bars, including one out by the pool. We ate at Savor and the pizza was amazing. It is such a unique restaurant; you can watch the pizza being cooked in the restaurant’s stone hearth oven and then servers bring it around continually. You can eat as much as you want so come hungry!

Rooms are decorated in rich tones to evoke the feeling of royalty, and there are several room types to choose from, including family suites. It is also one of the only hotels near Disneyland to offer free parking, which is a huge perk that can add up to big savings over a few days.

10. Tropicana Inn & Suites

Tropicana At-A-Glance
- Refrigerators and microwaves in every room
- Suites with full kitchens available
- Pool located in parking area
- Comfortable rooms
- Market onsite
With a prime location that cannot be beat; the Tropicana Inn & Suites is one of the best hotels across the street from Disneyland. It features a variety of rooms and suites to choose from – some suites with full kitchens – and there are plenty of options to accommodate even larger families.
From the street it looks deceptively small, but the hotel stretches back very far. Motel style, you can drive back after check-in and park close to your room. Rooms are fairly basic, but decorated with sunny palm trees for a nice California theme.
One thing we didn’t love (but might not bother you) is the motel-style layout puts the pool right in the center of the parking lot, meaning you have to walk between cars and watch for traffic to get from your room to the pool. But the pool itself is very nice. And when you consider how close this hotel is to theme parks, it is easy to overlook this detail! The Tropicana is one of the closest hotels to Disneyland entrance.

The Candy Cane Inn is a moderately priced hotel located less than a half mile from the parks. Although it is within easy walking distance to the parks, shuttle service to and from the parks is included.
Candy Cane Inn Anaheim Resort offers suites with either a king or two queen beds. As an older property, the décor is somewhat outdated (though some would argue in a cool retro kind of way). Overall, the hotel overall is clean and very well kept.
Rooms include a mini-fridge and coffeemaker. A free hot breakfast buffet is served each morning on the pool deck.

It is also convenient just for storing beverages and late-night snacks.
Another cool thing this hotel offers is kids suites, making it one of the best hotels with bunk beds near Disneyland. These suites are fun and colorful, with bunk beds, a TV, and a separate extra bathroom. The hotel also offers free breakfast, which is another great money-saver for families!

- Hotel across from Disneyland

Formerly the Anaheim Plaza Hotel, the Anaheim Hotel is located across the street from Disneyland and adjacent to the Anaheim Garden Walk.
Although it is an older hotel, it has been updated. The lobby has been redesigned with a retro feel that embraces is history. I loved the bright, mid-century modern decor in their lobby and bar, The Front Room Lounge.
Guest rooms are also fresh and bright, and come equipped with a mini fridge. Many rooms at The Anaheim Hotel also have a balcony or patio.
Outside you will find an Olympic-sized swimming pool and hot tub, along with nine acres of gardens and lots of quiet outdoor seating.

Disneyland Resort Hotels
Staying at one of the three Disney resort hotels – the Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – is tempting…if you have the budget. After all, they come with a lot of perks and are steps away from Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney District.
Some of the benefits of staying on-property include:
- Easy Access to Theme Parks – Hop on the monorail, walk through Downtown Disney, or access California Adventure Park through the guest entrance at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel.
- Early Entry – Enter one of the theme parks 30 minutes before regular park opening (note – this benefit is scheduled to go away in 2026 and be replaced with free Lightening Lane passes).
- Charge-to-Room – If you are staying at one of the Disney Resort hotels, you can charge dining and shopping purchases directly to your room.
- Dining Reservations – Preferred access to table-service restaurant dining reservations at your hotel.
I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at all three on-property hotels over many years of visiting the Disneyland Resort. And since these of course are also hotels within walking distance to Disneyland and DCA, I thought it would be important to include some insight into each one on this list.

18. The Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland Hotel At-A-Glance
- Large rooms with whimsical Disney touches
- Great pools and Monorail-themed waterslides
- New tower featuring Disney Vacation Club Resort Villas
- Numerous restaurants and lounges
- Character dining at Goofy’s Kitchen
- Easy access to Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Monorail
Let’s start with where it all began: the original Disneyland Hotel!
Though its heritage dates back to the 1950s, the Disneyland Hotel is a sleek and modern hotel, with subtle mid-century nods to its past. It is comprised of three towers – Adventure, Fantasy, and Frontier – plus the new Villas at Disneyland Hotel, a Disney Vacation Club Resort property.
The Disneyland Hotel boasts a prime location just steps from Downtown Disney and a short walk to the theme parks. Even better, you can hop on the monorail and zip straight into Tomorrowland.

One of our favorite spots at the Disneyland Hotel is Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. Inspired by the Jungle Cruise, Trader Sam’s is where you can sit on a patio lit by glowing tiki torches and enjoy appetizers, tropical drinks, and live music nightly.
And right next door is Tangaroa Terrace, another one of our favorite restaurants in all of the Disneyland Resort. In fact, sometimes we’ll stop by for a quick-service bite or Dole Whip, even if we’re not staying there!

► Travel Insight
Craving a Dole Whip? Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel is the only place you can get one without having tickets to Disneyland theme park. Enjoy one with a splash of rum!
And finally – let’s talk about the pool!
The E-Ticket Pool pays tribute to the park’s early days with a retro Disneyland sign and two water slides that are replicas of the original Mark 1 Monorails that traveled between Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel during the early ‘60s. There is the 180-foot-long Monorail Red slide and 80-foot-long Monorail Yellow slide.

19. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel

Disney’s Grand Californian At-A-Glance
- The absolute closest hotel to the Disneyland Resort
- Direct entry into Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure Park
- Upscale Craftsman design
- Beautiful grand lobby
- Tenaya Stone Spa
- Numerous restaurants and lounges
- Spacious rooms with balconies
When it comes to luxury hotels, nothing beats staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel for your Disneyland vacation. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and has the amazing service you’d expect at a deluxe resort. Plus, the hotel features a private entrance directly into Disney California Adventure that almost never has a line! It does not get any more convenient than that.

Disney’s Grand Californian has an amazing pool area. There are three pools, including the Redwood Pool with a 90-foot-long water slide. My favorite thing about staying at this Disney hotel is being able to take a mid-day break from the parks and enjoy a little pool time or soak in the hot tub at the end of a long day.
The Grand Californian also has some of the best restaurants at the Disneyland Resort. Our favorite is Storytellers Café which offers a Disney Character Breakfast in the morning, but also a nice dinner buffet (try the corn chowder!) as well as regular meals.

20. Pixar Place Hotel

Pixar Place Hotel At-A-Glance
- Newly refurbished hotel replaced Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel
- Easy access to Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure Park
- Rooftop pool and water slide
- Viewing deck to watch nightly fireworks
If the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian are luxury hotels at the Disneyland Resort, then let’s call Pixar Place Hotel a “moderate” hotel.
Not quite as fancy, and not quite at their level of amenities and service (for example there is no valet parking, self-parking only), this Disney property is fine, but in my experience not quite worth the price when you consider the much nicer Westin Anaheim Resort is right down the street and typically offers a much lower room rate. And even though Pixar Place is “on-property” at the Disneyland Resort, it is really not that much closer than some of the off-property hotels walking distance to Disneyland.

That said, the newly remodeled Pixar Place is nothing to sneeze at! They offer a variety of room sizes with fun decor based on Disney Pixar movies.
Pixar Place Hotel is just a 10-minute walk to the theme parks via Downtown Disney, or you can cut through the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa across the street for easy access to DCA.
