Unlike in Anaheim, where there is a vast collection of hotels right across the street from Disneyland, there really aren’t any hotels within easy walking distance to SeaWorld. There are many bridges in the area and a busy main road running past the park. Even the closest hotels to SeaWorld San Diego require a minimum 20-minute walk, but they can all be reached easily by car, especially if you stay at one of the hotels on Mission Bay.
And since SeaWorld is only four and a half miles away from the San Diego International Airport, all the hotels near SeaWorld San Diego are also super close to the airport and downtown, as well.

Formerly a Hilton brand resort, the Mission Bay Resort is a full-service resort and one of the nicest hotels by SeaWorld San Diego. It has been fully transformed with brand new rooms, waterfront dining, onsite outdoor activities, a luxurious spa and huge pool area that the whole family will enjoy.
Most notable however, San Diego Mission Bay Resort offers direct beach access. The only beach of its kind in San Diego, enjoy volleyball, giant chess, bean bag toss, sandcastle building and bonfires in total seclusion along Mission Bay, all included with the resort fee. Umbrellas and beach chairs available to rent.
The onsite Action Sports offers everything from jet skis to stand up paddle boards, waterskiing to sailing, aqua cycles to pontoons. If you’d rather stay dry, The Sandbox rents bikes, surreys and beach cruisers for exploring the area. They also have sand toys for kids to enjoy on the beach.

Nestled in a cove, The Dana on Mission Bay is the closest hotel to SeaWorld San Diego. The Dana on Mission Bay has two distinct buildings – Marina Cove and Water’s Edge. All are situated among the resort’s 10 acres of tropical landscape and waterfront and offer a variety of room types.
We personally prefer the Water’s Edge rooms as the building is newer and offer better views, but they are also the pricier of the two sections.
The Dana on Mission Bay also offers a free shuttle to the park as part of your resort fee, so you can save a little money on parking!
This hotel near to SeaWorld San Diego hosts a myriad of activities throughout the week, including live music, lawn games, craft beer tasting, game night and a dive-in movie nightly during the summertime. There are two pools to choose from, one of which is an infinity pool.

In addition to being close to SeaWorld and Mission Bay, the Hilton Garden Inn is located just a short walk to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park where you can catch the trolley to downtown San Diego, or catch the Hop On Hop Off San Diego Tour from the Old Town Trolley Tours depot in Old Town. This tour is the perfect way to maximize your time and get around San Diego, all while learning some cool facts about the city.
The Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town/SeaWorld Area is quite beautiful, designed with an old-world Spanish feel, but offering all the modern conveniences. Guest rooms are spacious and include plush bedding and excellent bath products. There is an outdoor pool and patio.
